Atta Gulab Jamun

Desserts is stressed spelled backwards. So it should truly be a way to soothe your mind and your soul. Like, who says no to sweets??
Of course the amount of sugar in the sweets is a concern for weight watchers but it doesn't harm once in a while.
And yes, most of the sweets have the goodness of milk . So see the positive part of it and lage raho 😜😜

I'm sure you all must have had gulab jamun countless number of times in your life . And also you might have prepared it at home in either the traditional method of using khoya or paneer or by a simple method of using the readymade mix from the store.

But what if you badly crave for it and you don't have both the ingredients? I think you're already craving by looking at the pics below 😉
Don't worry,we have got it covered 😁

Have atta at home? Some ghee? Oil and sugar? Let's start.
Yes, it doesn't need anything more than this and you'll be guilt free of not using maida as well 😊

Quick Recipe

  • Roast 1/2 cup of Atta/whole wheat flour in 2tbsp of ghee in slow flame for about 15-20 mins till it gets a light brown colour and a nutty aroma.
  • Once it cools down , add 2tbsp of milk powder , 1/4th tsp of baking soda and milk to make it a smooth dough.
  • Knead for 5mins and let it rest for at least 15mins.
  • Roll out small smooth balls or give it an oval shape and keep aside.
  • Prepare the sugar syrup with some cardamom powder in it.
  • Deep fry the gulab jamuns in oil in a low flame until it turns brown.
  • Remove and immediately put those in the sugar syrup and let it absorb for 2-3hours.
